A small act of kindness could work as a ray of hope for someone. And this man from California is trying to be the much needed positive change in this world by his goodwill. This man used to work at a bar as a security guard but one day after an incident he realized that he should quit his job and do something charitable that could work as a positive change in someone’s life. In no time he resigned from his job and started a non-profit organization in which he dressed up as a spider-man and visited the hospital of sick children to cheer them up and be the reason for their smile.
Ricky Mena, a 35-year-old man from California, USA has a heart of the gold. He explains his story where one day a young boy who was really close to him died after being sick for a long time. That was the hardest moment in his life. He was so heartbroken that he had an emotional breakdown before going to his night shift. His friends advised him to stay at home but he was desperate for money. That same night he got punched in the face by a stranger at the bar due to some ongoing fight. And that’s when he resigned from the job and started this non-profitable job to be Spider-man in sick children’s life.
After seeing his goodwill some other people also volunteered to join him. They also dress up as various super-heroes and visit the hospital to bring joy to children’s life. When he was asked why he chose spider-man for this, his reply was, “Spider-Man shows peace, inspiration, and fun. It turns into therapy for the kids to have someone to laugh with.”
Through crowd-funding, he also manages to buy gifts for these sick children to make them happier. “Christmas is a tough time to do what I do. I remember all the kids we lost throughout the year, but I still love the spirit of giving and bringing children in need the gifts they deserve. Any child in need – sick, poor or bullied – deserves a magical Christmas.”
