You must of course not be unaware of Blackhole. Although there has been no proof that black hole does actually exist. But this scientist, Katie Bouman proved that black hole exists and shared an actual image of it. The 29-year-old MIT scientist Bouman created an algorithm which helped computers process the data collected from eight linked telescopes, thereby giving us a view of the center of the M87 Galaxy. She shared a picture which showed her in disbelief as the first picture she made of a black hole was being processed to be reconstructed.

More than 200 researchers have been working for more than a decade to capture this historic image as part of the Event Horizon Telescope Collaboration (EHT). The scientists combining the collected millions of gigabytes of date with the help of combining 8 telescopes using a method called interferometry. The image of the black hole shows a ring of light around a black hole. The scientist and her team worked hard for three years to achieve this goal.
Katie Bouman started as a computer science and artificial intelligence at MIT three years ago. Bouman created an algorithm that took the “sparse and noisy data” collected from telescopes and turned it into an image. She has been directed the verification of images and selection of imagining parameters from the past several years.
“We didn’t want to just develop one algorithm. We wanted to develop many different algorithms that all have different assumptions built into them. If all of them recover the same general structure, then that builds your confidence,” Katie Bouman said.
