Today, here we have got you a story of a Swiss philanthropist, Hansjörg Wyss, who pledges to donate $1 Billion in order to conserve nature.

Back in October 2018, the man announced his bold plan to donate this amount for the conservation of the environment. Wyss foundation supports the conservation work carried around the world. It also makes efforts to protect land and oceans as well as funds several scientific projects.
The foundation also runs various campaigns for raising awareness regarding environmental issues.
In one of his writings, the Swiss philanthropist clearly stated that it is achievable to conserve 30% of the Earth by 2030. Wyss emphasized that Every one of us – citizens, philanthropists, business and government leaders should think about the gap that how little we are doing for nature and how much should actually be done.

“What we found over the years is that if it’s not being driven by folks who live in these communities, if there’s not local buy-in, then you’re going to have a political problem, you’re going to have a problem of these places [not] being protected permanently,” said Greg Zimmerman, communications director at the Wyss Campaign for Nature.
Worried with the current condition of nature, Swiss philanthropist has decided to donate $1 Billion for the conservation. Let us tell you that this huge amount will be consumed over the next decade.

This is not, over the past 20 years, Wyss foundation has already donated $450 million in order to preserve wildlife habitats across the world.
