Graduation Day is supposed to be one of the most memorable days of your life. And if you are your university topper, this should be a day that you can never forget! But for this kid, it turns out to be a nightmare.

University Topper Broke Down As His Parents Didn't Bother To Come To His Graduation

Jeric R. Rivas was left in tears during his convocation ceremony and even though he tried to walk to the stage to receive his honor when his name was called up on stage.

He ended up crying even harder and literally broke down into tears as he went up to receive his Bachelor scroll. Reason? His parents didn’t care to come for his graduation, although he was his university topper.

He has completed his graduation in Bachelor of Science in Criminology and he shared this story on his Facebook account. He said that although his parents were never really there for him he expected him to be there for him today. And he was really in tears.

He c0nfessed that his parents never bothered to be there for him even when he was in school. Jeric wrote on his post, “When I was in elementary school, I received the highest honor as the best student but my parents never came. They were supposed to go on stage and tie a medal around my neck but since they didn’t come, I refused the medal. “

Things were never easy for the university topper as he had to work odd jobs to afford his tuition fees. He never took any major financial help from his parents. He started working at a factory in Quezon, where he became a service crew at a major fast food outlet and even worked as a housemaid.

His professors have actually become his second family after hearing his story. When his name was called all of his professors went on the stage with him to receive his degree.

At the end of his Facebook post, he thanked all of his professors and everyone who have helped him in this difficult journey as an undergraduate.
