It is so hard to get over something terrible that happen to us in the first place and now imagine if you have to go through that pain every day of your life. Sounds heartbreaking, right? But this is the story of this woman’s life who is suffering from a disease called short-term memory loss. As the name suggests, in this condition you suffer from memory loss for a short period of time. She even forgets that her husband has divorced her and cries every time she’s told about it. The heartbreaking story of this woman will get in tears.
Veronika Mescherykova, a 29-year-old woman from suffers from Porphyria, which is a type of memory loss. Porphyria is caused due to the excessive amount of Porphyrian in the body which is the kind of natural chemical. This disease targets one in ten thousand people. The consequences of this disease lead in short-term memory loss and sometimes it is responsible for skin disorder too. Veronika suffers from acute memory loss as well as her body is also getting paralyzed partially.
Every day she waits for her husband to come home and completely forgets that she is divorced. The responsibility of telling her about this mishap falls on her mother and she has to break her heart every day by telling her the truth. This is extremely heartbreaking to go through the same pain every day and experiencing it like new. This never gets easy for either one of them and the truth keeps breaking Veronika’s heart again and again.
An operation was also done for the treatment of her condition but it went unsuccessful. She got married before her condition was diagnosed and the reason behind her divorce is undiscovered. She is currently taking physiotherapy for her partial paralysis. The sad truth is her memory loss condition is incurable and probably she will have to suffer like this for the rest of her life.
