Everyone is aware of the cold in the North America People making videos throwing boiling water into the air and seeing it turning into ice is quite common. But if that was not much astonishing here is something much more than that. This girl, Taylor Scallon from Lowa, USA showed her hair freeze as she steps outside her house. She made a video when she walked through her door in Lowa with the temperature of about 17 degree Celsius which literally made her hair freeze in mid-air. Her video went viral breaking the internet and got about 1.67 million views.

This may seem entertaining but this is actually a real serious matter from which people are actually struggling through. People there can’t go outside their houses and are in real danger. People there have been advised to not breathe deeply or not talk outside their houses or without covering their mouth.

Lake Michigan which is the world’s fifth largest lake has frozen when the temperature went down to -40 degree Celsius. The temperature in Chicago went down to about 17 degree celsius which has been recorded as the coldest day in 150 years.
The weather service meteorologist Brian Hurley told the MailOnline: “If you live up in the Arctic Circle, you’d say this is pretty normal. When it’s actually brought down to this level, that’s when you know it’s something serious.”
Temperatures are reaching -29 degree Celsius in certain parts of the Midwest. There have been several videos that are being uploaded that gives the idea of how cold it is in the area. This severe cold is being caused by the disrupted current of the polar vortex a stream of air that normally spins around the stratosphere over the North Pole.
